My New Holiday Tradition: Magic of Lights
Growing up, my family had many seasonal traditions I cherished. Now that I have children, I realize how much work goes into making holiday magic! I’ve had to let go of some traditions (visiting Santa) and cut back on others (making and decorating all the cookies).
Lights, on the other hand – those are easy. All I have to do is plug them in for instant wintery joy. Even better, I can pack up the family for a drive to see other people’s impressive shows.
One display that outshines the others is the Magic of Lights at Pine Knob Music Theater. For the third year now, the parking lot of my favorite concert venue has transformed into a wonderland of twinkling luminescence.
An infinite number of LED bulbs together create the familiar festive markers: Santa, elves, snowflakes, bows, and bells. There are also surprises like big trucks, dinosaurs, and international monuments. Some displays are big, some move, and others are perfect for selfies or group photos (far better than a kid crying on Santa’s lap!).
So we have a new holiday tradition: Magic of Lights.
