SkyBridge Michigan: A Walk in the Treetops

Across Michigan, you can walk the shorelines of the Great Lakes, pedal your bike around Mackinac Island, or soar above Frankenmuth in a hot air balloon. You can chase fall colors along scenic back roads or climb sun-warmed dunes rising above inland lakes.

But until 2022, you couldn’t walk among the treetops.

That changed with the debut of SkyBridge Michigan – a record-breaking pedestrian suspension bridge that offers one of the most breathtaking views in the state.

Located at Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls, SkyBridge Michigan gives visitors the chance to experience the magic of all four seasons from a whole new perspective. As the world’s longest timber-towered suspension bridge, it’s quickly become one of Michigan’s most iconic attractions.

How SkyBridge Michigan Earned Global Acclaim

When it opened in October 2022, SkyBridge Michigan captured attention around the world. Stretching more than 1,200 feet across a scenic mountain valley and standing 118 feet above the forest floor, it delivers the kind of bird’s-eye view typically reserved for drone footage or dreams.

But the experience is far more than stats and structure. The bridge seamlessly blends the thrill of suspended heights with the serene beauty of Northern Michigan, creating a walk you’ll remember long after your feet are back on solid ground.

And it’s open year-round – meaning the view is never the same twice. From colorful fall foliage to quiet winter snowscapes and lush summer greenery, each season paints the landscape in a different light.

About SkyBridge Michigan

Where Is It?

SkyBridge Michigan is nestled in the heart of Northern Michigan at Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls. Known for its skiing in the winter and golfing in the summer, Boyne Mountain has long been a favorite destination — and SkyBridge only adds to its appeal.

What’s Included in a Ticket?

All SkyBridge tickets include:

  • Unlimited access to the bridge for the day
  • Chairlift rides to and from the bridge
  • Discounts for resort guests

Prices vary based on demand, and walk-up rates tend to be slightly higher — so booking online in advance is a smart move.

Who Built It?

SkyBridge Michigan was designed and built by Experiential Resources (ERi), the same company that created SkyBridge Gatlinburg in Tennessee.

Accessibility and Pet Policies

Due to the nature of the suspension design, SkyBridge is not accessible to wheelchairs, strollers, or crutches. However, guests with mobility needs can still take in the views via a scenic lift ticket and enjoy panoramic vistas from the SkyBridge Loop overlook.

Pets aren’t allowed on the bridge, but service animals may be accommodated with advance coordination through the resort’s Customer Care team.

Weather Closures

The bridge closes during inclement weather, including high winds, lightning, or significant snowfall. A dedicated safety team monitors conditions in real time to ensure the safety of all guests.
