Came downtown… with our teenage kids and had a great time. Such an amazing atmosphere down here with the huge Christmas tree, skating rink, pop up stores, fire pits, and of course the awesome Lodge. So many people walking around in city makes it so fun and we hope it keeps growing.

Directions & Parking

Located at 800 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226, The Rink is centrally located in Downtown Detroit, making it an easily accessible destination whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town. For GPS purposes, use the address of Campus Martius Park, which is the home of The Rink. This will guide you directly to the heart of the action.

There are numerous parking options available within a short walking distance of the outdoor skating rink. This includes both street parking and secure parking decks. One of the most convenient parking locations is the One Campus Martius garage, offering ample space and a secure environment for your vehicle.

Detroit’s public transportation network (including DDOT, SMART, FAST, The People Mover, QLINE, rideshare, and MoGo) also includes multiple stops near Campus Martius Park if you’d prefer not to drive downtown.

Tickets & Rentals

The Rink is open daily starting November 18th, 2023 – March 3, 2024, including holidays. Check the schedule for specific hours. It’s recommended to pre-purchase tickets & ice skate rentals for your preferred time slots as a limited number of walk-up tickets will be available.

Admission for the 2023-2024 season is $12 for adults; $9 for children 12 and under and also seniors 59+; and $8 for military and first responders. Skate rental is $6. This year tickets and skate rentals will be available for presale on the Downtown Detroit Partnership website: DowntownDetroit.org

Night Skate Sessions Available

Would you rather end your day at The Rink? It’s open late, so you can enjoy a peaceful night skate under the stars. End your day with a hot drink at the Cadillac Lodge, offering a cozy ski lodge ambiance right across from The Rink.

In the heart of downtown Detroit, Campus Martius Park is a wonderful place to get into the holiday spirit… A row of shops offering holiday gifts and the centerpiece is the Cadillac Lodge, which is a giant clear beer tent adorned with leather couches, rocking chairs, wing-back chairs, high-top tables, giant Jenga games and several alcohol stations.

We went on a Friday night and the entire area was bustling with people and the lodge had a DJ spinning music. Be prepared for large crowds and fun.

Rink Opening Weekend Celebration: November 18-19, 2023

“This year, instead of opening Friday evening, following the annual Detroit Tree Lighting, we’re opening on a Saturday with a weekend full of fun for the whole family,” said Cowan.

Kick off the winter season with a weekend full of excitement and entertainment. The Rink at Campus Martius Park, presented by Visit Detroit, invites you to glide into the spirit of the season with a series of skate parties and festive holiday activities.

Skating with Santa Party: Saturday, November 18, 2023

From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., join the Skating with Santa Party, a family-friendly event where children can write letters to Santa and skate to holiday tunes spun by DJ Invisible. Santa himself will make a special appearance, and there will be holiday giveaways courtesy of Kroger and McDonald’s.

Ugly Holiday Sweater Party: Saturday, November 18, 2023

Embrace the holiday spirit from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. by donning your favorite ugly holiday sweater. Skate under the glow of Detroit’s Christmas Tree while enjoying merry beats from DJs Chris Hesano and Joey Namou. The Wana Brands activation adds to the night’s festive fun.

Frozen Skate: Sunday, November 19, 2023

From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., experience the magic of Disney’s “Frozen” with a chance to skate alongside Elsa and Olaf. This enchanting event includes photo opportunities and the chance for a few lucky skaters to win tickets to a Broadway show, courtesy of Broadway in Detroit.

Learn to Play Clinics: January 6 – February 10, 2024
