My 7 Favorite Michigan Cider Mills You Need to Visit This Fall

One of my favorite fall activities that I look forward to every year is the cider mill season. I wait all summer for the first opening days of some of my favorite Michigan cider mills. Although this season is short, it is one of the best parts of fall besides the beautiful leaves changing, of course.

October is the perfect time to visit cider mills and Southeast Michigan has plenty to offer. Whether you are looking for cider and donuts, farm animals, apple picking, hayrides, corn mazes or pumpkin patches, each cider mill offers its own unique mix of fun fall activities.

Here are 7 of my favorite cider mills in Southeast Michigan:

Spicer Orchards | Fenton

Spicer Orchards has a cute shop inside that is filled with gifts, fudge, cider, donuts, and they even have gluten free donuts! This cider mill is also equipped with a winery. Plus, they have a corn maze and pumpkin patch, which are perfect for fall fun.

One of my favorite things is to look at all of the cute merchandise that can be purchased. This is the spot to go for unique gift ideas for someone else, or you may even find something that you want to take home for yourself too.

Plymouth Orchards has all the festivities for adults and kids. With farm animals, wagon rides, fun photo spots and donuts with cider, there is a lot to do here.

My favorite thing to do when I am visiting this cider mill is to also visit their Red Shed Market which is just a street or so over. This is the perfect place to stop for a quick purchase of cider and donuts and other things like apples. It is a small red market shed (just like the name describes!) and has everything you would need in a pinch from your local cider mill.

Blake's In South Lyon

Blake’s Lyon Township | South Lyon

Blake’s Lyon Township is a new addition to the area as it was previously bought out and rebranded by the Blake’s family of companies. Like all the Blake’s locations, they have amazing donuts and cider here.

Blake’s is my favorite spot for U-Pick apples. They take you out on a wagon ride and bring you to many different kinds of apple trees. It is a great spot to go if you are looking for a variety of apples to try and take home.

Parmenters Northville Cider Mill

Parmenter’s is located in downtown Northville and is the perfect place to stop if you are downtown. They have delicious cider, amazing donuts, and even a nut hut which serves candied almonds. Inside the store they have quite a spread for you to look at too.

Outside the area is very family-friendly with a fun wooden train and a wide variety of picnic tables and places to sit.

Northville Winery and Brewing Co. is also located on site and serves wine and beer. My favorite part of this cider mill is being able to get some wine to enjoy after my cider and donuts and enjoy the cool fall air on the picnic tables. On certain days they also have live music and food trucks right outside their winery area.

Three Cedars In Northville

Three Cedars | Northville

Three Cedars is a family-friendly cider mill. There is a giant pumpkin patch at the front of the farm with different size pumpkins. Whether you need a pie pumpkin, small little pumpkins for decor or a pumpkin for carving, there are plenty of pumpkin options here.

There is also an option to take a hay ride to the giant pumpkin patch in the back of the farm where you can pick your own pumpkin from the patch itself. This hay ride also brings you to a corn maze for extra fun!

For a special experience, Three Cedars has an actual train where you can take a ride around the cider mill. You can also see adorable farm animals on your visit. The cider and donuts are amazing as well.

My favorite part of this cider mill is the little country store. Here you will find candy and a lot of unique Halloween decor.

Obstbaum Orchards is a quaint cider mill that has tons of activities. They have U-Pick apples, hayrides, and sell market goods like salad dressings, maple syrup, honey, caramel apples, and fresh pressed cider and donuts.

One of my favorite fall things to do is to make a trip to Obstbaum Orchards specifically for their Smoky Chipotle Salsa. This salsa is something I look forward to all year and I savor into the new year. It makes for a perfect gift for yourself or a loved one.

Uncle John’s is a nice remote spot just north of Lansing and perfect option for those who attend Michigan State University. They have a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, a bakery with pies, bread, cider and apples, and a store with seasonal gifts.

My favorite thing to do here is go to the pumpkin patch and find that perfect pumpkin for carving. Uncle John’s always have a great selection of pumpkins to choose from and it is the perfect spot for finding your dream carving pumpkin.
