About Camp Fort Hill

While the camp was founded as a place for young children to learn about nature, today it serves as a haven for kids and adults alike who want to surround themselves with the natural beauty of Michigan.

Day Camp

The camp is most well-known for its day camps, which are available to local schoolchildren who want to enjoy a week-long adventure during their summer vacation. The day camp is open to any child between the ages of 7 and 12, and includes both breakfast and lunch daily, making it a valuable and convenient opportunity for parents as well. During their week at camp, children have the opportunity to hike on the nature trails, create arts and crafts, practice archery, and go swimming, boating, and fishing on Lake Tamarack. No electronics are allowed at the day camp, which allows kids to completely escape the pressures of social media and the need to constantly be connected to a device.

Group Rentals

In addition to the day camps that are available for children, Camp Fort Hill also offers camp rentals for large groups who are interested in spending extended time in the great outdoors. This is an awesome option for families that are looking for a place to host their reunions or for organizations or clubs that went to get away from it altogether. The group rentals can accommodate up to 105 people who can stay in the 7 different cabins that are on-site.

Orley Kribs Nature Center

Also located on the Camp Fort Hill campus is the Orley Kribs Nature Center and pavilion. This facility serves as a gathering point for people on the camp and also houses many of the camp’s educational programs and events throughout the year. With so many features and facilities at the camp, it’s not surprising that it has become one of the summer’s hottest destinations in southern Michigan.
