The aim was to attract visitors to the city’s award-winning downtown during the beautiful Christmas season, complementing Holland’s rich Dutch heritage. Inspired by European Christmas markets, CVB representatives visited Germany to gather ideas, returning with enthusiasm and designs for wooden booths that now characterize the market.

Kerstmarkt Today

Kerstmarkt has become a cherished tradition for many families in West Michigan. It has been known to attract visitors from across the United States, including states as far as Texas, and even European guests traveling from Chicago. The market offers a unique venue for local artisans and specialty shops to sell their wares while shoppers enjoy traditional food, drink, and entertainment.
