This hotel offers an incredible experience from start to finish. The impeccable service begins with a warm welcome when you arrive and extends throughout your stay, including interactions during check-in and dining at The Apparatus Room. The overall quality of the food, drinks, service, and accommodations is exceptional.

This was a remarkable weekend stay in Downtown Detroit. We were there on a special date night and really enjoyed it. The hotel is beautiful and super comfortable, the staff is really attentive and everyone takes care of you. We loved the house car service as well as our dinner at the Apparatus Room. Top-notch dining and service. Will definitely come back.

The Shinola has it all: Beautiful and stylish public spaces, nice rooms with plenty of outlets and a decent wifi signal, and nice bars and a fine restaurant. Service is quite good too. The location in the heart of Downtown Detroit is excellent. We return to Detroit 3 or 4 times per year, and the Shinola is our preferred hotel choice.

Beautiful remodel of a former bank. Many thoughtful touches in the room including a comfortable chair to sit and write/read in, and feather-soft bedding… This hotel is in the middle of Houghton, which is a nice town to walk around with a long waterfront walk. Houghton is also well situated for visiting other regional sites such as Copper Harbor, Porcupine Mountain, etc. We very much enjoyed our short stay here.

Nestled on Mackinac Island’s Main Street, this hotel offers a prime location, directly facing the picturesque Lake Huron shoreline and just a few blocks away from the bustling downtown area. Its proximity to the waterfront and downtown makes it incredibly convenient for leisurely strolls and boutique shopping.

We loved our weekend stay here. Location was perfect, just off downtown so a little quieter but a very short walk to everything. We enjoyed watching the horses go by and the ships come and go from the big front porch rockers. We also enjoyed the lawn chairs and fires at night. The 1852 Grill Room restaurant had amazing food and great service. We also tried the bike rental right out front. The rates were great and the bikes were comfortable for a long ride around the island. We are looking forward to staying here again!

I appreciated the constant ice water supply in the front room, the quiet atmosphere, and the beautiful porch overlooking the gardens outside our bedroom. The pier is beautiful. Just outstanding!
