  1. I really love staying close to home because honestly wherever you go, you will be surrounded by Michigan’s fall colors. You can’t escape it, and that’s a good thing! The highlight of my fall fun is definitely going to Crane’s Apple Orchard near Fennville, Michigan. The drive is scenic, the people are friendly, and the apples are delicious! Plus it’s close to the lake, so after a day of picking apples, you can take a 20 minute drive (or less!) to the shores of Lake Michigan to feel that crisp fall breeze coming across!

  2. I was just talking to my family about all MI offers. I believe no matter where you are in MI, you will have a beautiful view. I’m not sure if I can pick just 1 place. Home (Lenawee County) is where the heart is. Also, Traverse City (where my family’s vacation home is located) is amazing.

  3. At the Lake in the Clouds scenic overlook at Porcupine Mountains State Park. The colors are gorgeous and you can see for miles.

  4. My Favorite area to visit every summer is Frankfort Michigan and all the nearby surrounding towns within minutes to drive. I stayed every summer on Lake Leelanua and had some time also over in Oscoda in the fall also, Holland’s beaches. But of all my MI travels, I am always led back to Frankfort.

  5. I’d like to say that fall in Michigan means cider and, but really, it’s and one of the multiple state parks culminating in the Iceman MTB race in November up by Traverse City

  6. My favorite place to explore the awesome mitten in the fall is the UP hiking the North Country Trail. You’ll never see more beautiful colors!

  7. My favorite place to experience fall is on MSU’s campus — we have a great bunch of very colorful trees here, and it’s always a fun time seeing the large number of students and residents alike wandering through the trails and sidewalks.

  8. Love Presque Isle, MI. It’s a little harbor community tucked away between Alpena and Rogers City. Whether you’re there in the summer, fall, winter or spring, there is always something beatiful to admire. Fall is a special time up there as you see every color in the spectrum! Can’t wait to go back!

  9. Walking the nature trails at Kensington Metropark in SE Michigan. The leaves turn every color of beautiful and you can stop along the way and hand-feed the Chickadees.

  10. Port Austin for its sunsets, Romeo for Tillson Street and Grosse Pointe for trick-or-treating around the neighborhoods!

  11. In the fall I love our drive to the lakeshore. From Allendale to the lake, it is non-stop beauty. Lake Michigan is just as beautiful at the temperature gets chilly. Love the whole leaf & lake experience!

  12. I love Big Blue Lake in Holton. It is so quiet & peaceful there. All of the fall colors reflect upon the lake and it’s the best kayaking around the shore to watch the colorful leaves dance around in the wind.

  13. I just adore the beautiful tip of the thumb in the fall, beautiful colors, great state parks and the tourists have gone home so the locals can really enjoy this beautiful place!

  14. Traveling around our great state~ There is just about everything! I love it from the tip of Copper Harbor to the shores of New Buffalo! Michigan my Michigan!
