Natalie Burg is an author and freelance journalist specializing in innovation, development and growth. Her career began in journalism, writing for such publications as The Lansing State Journal and The Ann Arbor News before taking an unexpected turn into downtown development after receiving her MPA from Eastern Michigan University. After working as the DDA Director for the City of Owosso, Natalie merged her communications and development backgrounds into one. Now, she tells the stories of communities, organizations and businesses as the development news editor for Lansing’s Capital Gains and Ann Arbor’s Concentrate, and as a regular contributor to Forbes.com, Ann Arbor Observer and Metromode, specializing in writing about community development, local government and entrepreneurship. Natalie recently published her first book, Swedish Lessons: A memoir ofsects, love and indentured servitude. Sort of.
