Suds and Snow

Suds and Snow

Who says festivals are just for the summer? It is becoming more and more common for beer and music festivals to take place year round, and that includes outdoor winter festivals. Traverse City is no exception to this trend. Quickly approaching is the 9th annual Suds and Snow Festival on March 7th, from 1:30pm to 6:30pm. Get your tickets online now for just $25!

Suds and Snow consists of the greatest of things: live music, snowshoeing, and of course, beer, wine, and cider. This event takes place at Timber Ridge Resort, which is delightfully located along the VASA Trail. Need I point out how wonderful those snowshoe trails are? $2 from every ticket sold will be donated to these wondrous pathways.

Live music will include performances from the Lucas Paul Band and Brady Corcoran and the Sweater Party. There will be two stages set up that require a 1/2 mile snowshoe hike through the woods to get to. Additionally, the beer, wine, cider, and food will be near the stages. There will be 12+ brewers in attendance, serving up their delectable concoctions. Short’s Brewing Company, Right Brain Brewery, Beggars Brewery, and Tandem Ciders will all be there, along with many others, enthusiastically serving pints to keep your soul warm during this (potentially) blustery event.

Food trucks and local eateries will have booths set up for when you need to soak some of that beer up in your stomach. Tickets to this festival include one full pint and access to the jazzy jams that will be played. Additional tokens may be purchased for $5 and those can be used on both beer and food. Tickets may be purchased online, at Timber Ridge Resort, or either of High Five Threads’ locations.

For those of you who think the Timber Ridge location is less than ideal, don’t fret! There is a free shuttle starting at the Old Town Parking Deck in Traverse City and will be transporting patrons every 30 minutes, starting at 12:45pm and ending at 7pm. Now you can sample everything these brewers have to offer without worrying about driving.

Suds and Snow is still accepting volunteers. If you are interested, you can sign up online. Don’t have snowshoes? No problem at all! Timber Ridge Resort will have rentals available for you to use while at the festival. While you’re there, you might as well take the opportunity to explore more of the VASA Trails and see what your ticket purchase is benefiting. The VASA Trail system is huge, beautiful, and an incredible perk to living in Traverse City. Suds and Snow is an event for the books, don’t miss out!
