If you are familiar with Seven Lakes State Park in Holly, Michigan, you might have seen the signs for a new winery in the area. Seven Lakes Winery is tucked away on the quiet back roads. It is a short drive from the state park. The 96 acre estate provides rich soil for the production of crisp wines. It is a lovely setting for a summer afternoon of wine tasting.
Robert Diez purchased this vineyard in the early 2000s. At the time, it seemed that this vineyard had seen its last days. However, Diez decided to revive it. With a career in Aerospace, winemaking was a new venture for Diez. He devoted his time and energy into learning everything he could about the craft. After he earned his winemaker’s license, Diez has been perfecting his winemaking process. He also worked dutifully to get the tasting room up and running.
