Get excited, wine enthusiasts! Michigan by the Bottle is bringing something to Shelby Township that the Mitten State has never had the good fortune to experience before; a tasting room including wines from six different wineries. Wines from Chateau Aeronautique, Chateau de Leelanau, Domaine Berrien Cellars, Gill’s Pier Vineyard & Winery, Peninsula Cellars, and Sandhill Crane Vineyards will be available to sample, which is quite the feat considering these wineries were all previously unaffiliated.
Michigan by the Bottle is an online community that promotes Michigan’s wine industry. Whether you are traveling to a new area and need to know where the local wineries are, or are curious about upcoming wine events, Michigan by the Bottle is the farthest you have to look. Their website is full of all the wine information you could want, including links to Michigan’s wineries, social media accounts, and videos of various wineries.
Surely everyone agrees that wine tasting is one of the most enjoyable activities, yet there has always been the issue of having to travel between wineries. Michigan by the Bottle makes it effortless by putting six of Michigan’s favorite wineries under one roof. This new tasting room makes it easy to try wines from places such as Lansing and Northern Michigan, all while staying in Shelby Township. The different wine trails featured will give tasters a great variety of what Michigan wineries have to offer. Wines from The Pioneer Wine Trail, The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail, The Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail, and The Old Mission Peninsula Wine Trail will be available. These wine flights will be paired with small, delicious food bites for a small fee.
Not only is this new tasting room a perfect place to sample Michigan’s best wines, but many events will be held here as well. Book signings, art exhibits, interactive art sessions, catered wine-tasting dinners, and, of course, winemaker meet-and-greets will be held here. With such enjoyable events partnered with some of Michigan’s best wineries, this tasting room is going to be a huge hit among Michiganders.
Michigan by the Bottle’s new tasting room will be the only one of its kind in Metro Detroit, featuring wines made by Michigan farmers who use their own estate-grown (or locally sourced) grapes. All wines sampled will be available to purchase by the bottle or case. The projected opening date for this tasting room is mid-December; it will be located at 45645 Hayes Road in Shelby Township. For more information, Shannon and Cortney Casey are always available and willing to help. All of their contact information is available on their website, or you can just swing by the new tasting room and chat over a few samples.
