    May is a time for flowers to bloom and Michigan to come alive with awesome events to attend. Whether you’re into beer, food, tulips, or art, there’s something for everyone around the Mitten this month.

    Downtown Traverse City Art Walk — May 5 — Traverse City

    A local favorite, the Downtown Traverse City Art Walk will showcase art exhibits throughout the city. The public is invited to enjoy an evening of art, refreshments, food and music on a self guided tour throughout Traverse City.

    Tulip Time Festival — May 6-10 — Holland

    Dutch culture run deep in Holland and the annual Tulip Time Festival showcases the area’s unique heritage. Enjoy the sprawling fields of beautiful tulips, and check out the concerts, meal shows, parades, Town Crier Competition, and Trolley Tours all around Holland.

    1st Annual Michigan Day — May 6 — Lansing

    Celebrate the stories of Michigan at Lansing’s Michigan History Museum. This free event is marking the museum’s inaugural Michigan Day signature event and is sure to be fun and enlightening for all ages, including stories of Michigan’s First People and the making of the Mackinac Bridge.

    Mission Point Tweed Ride — May 13 — Mackinac Island

    Head up for your first trip to Mackinac Island for the year for a lakeside ride with a bit of style. Celebrate National Bicycle Month and Mackinac Island’s primary mode of transportation with the Mission Point Tweed Ride. Antique bikes and vintage or traditional British cycling attire, particularly tweed are encouraged!

    Motor City Comic Con — May 13-15 — Novi

    In its 27th year, the Motor City Comic Con boasts more than 250 comic book creators, writers and artists, plus actors from TV and the silver screen. And that’s not to mention the more than a million comics for sale.

    57th Annual National Morel Mushroom Festival — May 17-21 — Boyne City

    For more than 50 years the National Morel Mushroom Festival has been a favorite for mushroom lovers far and wide. This ultimate signal that spring is here the festival includes a carnival, mushroom hunting, and cooking demonstrations.

    World Expo of Beer — May 19-20 — Frankenmuth

    This two day bash is Michigan’s largest international beer sampling event. Over 150 beers and alternative beverages from breweries around the world will be served along with local cuisine.

    Roll’n Out Food Truck Fest — May 21 — Grand Rapids

    Food trucks are so in and so is Grand Rapids! The Roll’n Out Food Truck Fest showcases food trucks and chefs, culinary themed movies, and pop-up performers.

    Michigan Adventure Race: Epic Edition — May 21 — Ludington

    Up for an adventure? The Michigan Adventure Race: Epic Edition has one-, two- and three-person teams running, biking and paddling to checkpoints throughout Ludington State Park along Lake Michigan and Hamlin Lake.

    Art on the Bay — May 25 — East Tawas
