Undies. Underwear. Drawers. Panties. Whatever you call it, we all wear them – well, I hope we all wear them – but when is the last time you have put on a pair of undies that made you laugh, that brightened your day, that saved t-shirts headed to the trash, or that are screen printed by the very designer that crafted them?
Kori started La Vie en Orange about three years ago. Michigan, meet, La Vie en Orange, a cheeky collection of undies available in various ever-changing designs and colors, screen-printed and sewed by Kalamazoo’s Kori Jock. It’s the crossroads of Kori’s love of design and her dedication to environmental sustainability. Kori designs and crafts the undies, and scores her product from local thrift shops or garage sales.
You may be asking yourself, out of everything out there that she could design, how did Kori start making undies?? Well, believe it or not, it’s a family thing! Kori’s grandmother made Kori’s grandfather and father’s undies ever since she can remember and Kori learned to sew at a young age so once she started to make undies as well, no one batted an eyelash.
The designs are fun, colorful, and undie-pun hysterical. You could get a Monday thru Sunday pack, a two pack consisting of “I see London” and “I see France,” a pair that is Mitten or Kalamazoo inspired, or even a pair with a large camel on the front (hehe).
La Vie en Orange is known for its Undies of the Month Club. If you love getting beauty products from Birchbox, or healthy snacks from NatureBox, think about how it would feel to get a new pair of undies every month, fun right? And you really are part of a club, a club with benefits; the designs are exclusive to the Undies of the Month Club members for at least six months.
Kori prides La Vie en Orange on making undies that are skinny jean approved and, most importantly, have a “Hot Booty Guarantee”!
Kori already has plans for make a line for trans-men and trans-women, but also wants to grow the business to include a variety of cuts and eventually make undies for males as well.
