We at The Awesome Mitten are all about New Year’s Resolutions and understand how difficult it can be to stay on track. The aftermath of the holiday binge and the looming swimsuit season ahead make health and fitness related-goals the most popular resolutions each year. Each month, I will bring you the very best in Michigan fitness to give you variety in your workout, a plan to stay focused, and a local spin to your routine.

 

My goal for this fitness column is to shed light on tips and tricks to stay in shape, showcasing Michigan-based fitness options along the way. Thirty minutes of physical activity per day is all it takes to live a healthy, balanced, and fit lifestyle. This short activity requirement can take shape through a workout at the local gym or simply taking a walk around the neighborhood. Even these thirty little minutes can relieve stress, help prevent illnesses, and make you feel better, and healthier, overall. Plus, regular exercise can help you sleep better, boost your energy, maintain a healthy weight, and have fun!
