Che Bello is an uncommon shopping destination for more than one reason. Not only does the boutique carry only several pieces of one style, thus ensuring your fashion taste is as unique as you are, but because of the shop’s liquor license, you’re free to peruse the trendy apparel while sipping beer or wine. Sounds like a shopping trip in heaven.
The bright, modern shop, which opened in December of 2011, welcomes customers with cheap drinks and styles you won’t soon find anywhere else. You’ll usually find owner Ljubitza–“Yubi” for short–manning the register, offering dressing room assistance and fashion advice, while providing that particular friendliness Marquette is known for.
The aptly named Che Bello— meaning “how beautiful/handsome” in Italian—carries stylish brands for women and men, including Alternative Apparel, Antique Rivet, Ark & Co, Breda, BTNS, Cello Jean, Everly, Five Crown, H2O, Honey Punch, Lucky, Lush, M. Rena, Mittmi by Danittza, Nico LA, OneNinetyOne, Sexy Sweet Feet, Silvano Apparel, Sock it to Me, Tank Farm, Vigoss, Vintage Red, Volcom, Ya Los Angeles, and Wicked Quick. Because of Che Bello’s constant search for the latest trends, you’ll never visit the same store twice. Che Bello also features jewelry from Marquette area designers Beaded Jewelry Unlimited and Vintage Kisses, both of whom create pieces specifically for the boutique.
Not only are the fashions rare gems, but most are available in a variety of sizes: from XS to 3XL in women’s and S to 2XL in men’s. Virtual dressing rooms and payment via the internet allows customers to purchase and hold clothing items until it’s convenient to pick them up; a handy tool considering the drastically changing weather of the UP.
Located in downtown Marquette, Che Bello is locally owned but ships to customers across the country. Stop by in person or enjoy the assortment of fashionable garb from the comfort of your own home. The store is constantly updating their website, Facebook, and Twitter in order to inform their customers of new shipments and upcoming specials.
Yubi has always been a charitable individual and Che Bello is the perfect vehicle to give back to the community. Che Bello’s Second Annual Fashion Show will occur April 9, 2013 at the Vera Bar, located above the shop. All proceeds go to UPAWS, the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter and donors include Che Bello, Vera Bar, Salon Salon,
Double Trouble DJ’s, Knots & Kisses Event Planning, Vintage Kisses, Darling, Samantha Elizabeth Photography, Everyday Wines, Wattsson & Wattsson, TLC Catering, Yooper Shirts, Pride Printing, 94.9 The Bay, 100.3 The Point, and Bald Eagle Harley-Davidson. Tickets are $25 and the show is open to 18 years and up.
