Celebrate Spring in the D

Celebrate Spring in the D

Spring is just a few days away and it’s time to celebrate the sunshine and warm weather! There are so many things to do in Detroit but here are a few of my favorite ways to celebrate spring:

Go on a bike ride with Slow Roll! Join this season’s first Slow Roll on 3/29 starting in Eastern Market. There will be food trucks, live art, music and more!

Gear up for Opening Day! The baseball season is one of the most anticipated sports in Detroit and Opening Day is like an unofficial holiday. It might be too late to get tickets to the first Tigers game at Comerica Park on April 6th but there are lots of great bars and parties planned all over Detroit to attend!

Shop and eat local at Royal Oak Farmer’s Market! At the first sign of warm weather, I always run to the nearest farmer’s market. Check out Royal Oak’s every Saturday and Sunday for fresh fruits, veggies and some antiques. They’ve also got some great Spring events coming up. Sip Savor on Stomp on March 28th that will be full of wine and food samples and the Spring Beerfest on April 25th that will be full of craft beer and live music.

Listen to some music at the 18th annual Metro Times Blowout! This Detroit, Ferndale, Hamtramck music festival is taking place from 4/29 – 5/2. This a great reason to get outside and see some live music! Mark your calendars, buy your tickets and get excited!

With the sun shining and the birds singing, I couldn’t be more excited! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Eastern Market’s Flower Day and make a point to check out the Paper Flower exhibit at the DIA.
