Local Michigan-made beverages are a point a pride for us Michiganders. We love our Michigan craft beer and wine, and we take every opportunity to celebrate it. Michigan Wine & Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson, May 9th at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, MI, provides another great opportunity to celebrate.

Tickets are $30 and include $10 worth of tasting tokens. Other activities include wine and food pairings, Hot Laps Rides around the track, concessions, food trucks, and arts & crafts vendors. This event lasts from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. and is for guests 21 and older only. With over 30 wineries and over 20 breweries to sample, you are bound to find your new favorite drink!

With over 100 wineries in the state, it could take weeks to tour (designated driver-led, of course) all of the wine trails throughout the state, such as Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail, Wineries of Michigan’s Old Mission Peninsula, Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail, Sunrise Side Wine Trail, or Southeast Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail. Or, at the Michigan Wine & Beer Fest, you could sample a few of each, all in one place.

Grand Rapids of course won Best Beer City by USA Today, but there are over 150 breweries and growing throughout Michigan, the Great Beer State. According to The Michigan Beer Fight Song by Fred Bueltmann, you can find Michigan beer “From the U.P. to the mitten… From Motown to the Soo,” and this May in Brooklyn too!
