With Labor Day behind us and school back in session, many Michiganders are clinging to the last signs of summer and not so secretly hoping Mother Nature holds off on blasting us with snow flakes long enough to enjoy one of Michigan’s prettiest seasons: FALL.
Although summer is usually when we spend most our time outdoors, early fall is not to be discredited. The Mitten turns into a myriad of brightly colored scarlet hues and offers a whole new list of season must-dos: visits to the pumpkin patch, apple picking, sampling seasonal brews, and fresh cider donuts from the mill.
To make the most of the few warm Fall weekends we have before the rain and wind set in, it’s best to get all your favorite activities in as soon as possible — and the 6th annual Vander Fest at Vander Mill in Spring Lake, MI is a perfect opportunity.
Vander Fest 2015 takes place on October 3, 2015 from 4:00pm – 10:00pm and is open to Michiganders 21 years of age and older. This annual celebration will include live entertainment, local food and most significantly: craft beer and cider from 28 regional breweries and cideries.
Vander Fest boasts to offer more than 50 taps of craft beers and cider from around the Midwest. A few of the local favorites from the Spring Lake area are Oddside Ales, Dutch Girl Brewery, Our Brewing Company, Pigeon Hill, and of course, Vander Mill!
This year’s festival will feature entertainment from Social Bones, a jamband from Detroit, and DJ Nick. Bangarang Circus is also set to perform throughout the event, and a laser light show will begin after dark. Food trucks will be parked at the mill to enlighten your taste buds (and soak up some of the brew!) offering a variety of warm food options including pizza and BBQ. Vander Mill will also be open to the public offering a unique and fresh menu.
Tickets are available on the Vander Mill website and range in price from $25-$75, depending on general admission or VIP options. The event also offers a discounted ticket price of $10 to designated drivers looking to enjoy the event while staying sober.
