Hello fellow Michigan-lovers! I’m so excited to be writing for the Awesome Mitten- now I can share with you everything that I love about this mitten I call home! I’ve had so many amazing adventures in this wonderful state, and I plan on having many, many more. I was born in Ishpeming (so, yes, I’m technically a Yooper), but I spent the better part of my years in Cheboygan, a small town way up north near the Mackinaw Bridge. I moved to Grand Rapids a few years ago to pursue a degree at Grand Valley State University, and I’m currently finishing up said degree with a major in Writing and a minor in Environmental Studies. I’m loving being a part of the West Michigan community! It seems like wherever I go, I find new things to fall in love with- whether it’s the natural beauty of the Great Lakes or the countless havens for art lovers, foodies, and music enthusiasts like myself.
