If you’re planning your summer vacation in mid-Michigan and want something fun to do, Anderson & Girls Orchard must be on your Michigan summer bucket list. This wonderful orchard and farm have been in operation since 1978. A petting zoo was added in 2000 and now has over 140 animals to visit while you are there.

Anderson & Girls Orchard is a fun summer activity for any family. There are many seasonal events offered throughout the summer and fall. Even if there is not an event going on, the orchard provides a chance to play with animals, shop at the farmer’s market for fresh produce, and of course, do not pass up the fantastic sweet shop that offers a full menu of great food to enjoy.

Other Places to Enjoy in Montcalm County

Montcalm County offers some of the best things to do in MI this summer. After exploring the orchard, make sure to go visit Wabasis Lake Park. This is a beautiful park located in Greenville, Michigan that offers lots of great summer things to do, including a great public beach where you can enjoy some fun water activities with the family.

Deer Tracks Junction is another great place to visit in the area. Here you will find your choice of adventure. You can see the petting zoo area where you will be able to feed and visit with some favorite farm animals, including pigs, donkeys, camels, and bunnies. Deer Tracks Junction also offers a safari tour where you will come across Yaks, Bison, Alpacas, Llamas, and even possibly sight some Black Bears.

If you are looking for another fun activity in Stanton, Michigan, make sure that you head to the Mid Michigan Motorplex for a night of exciting racing. The kids can enjoy the playground while you watch some excellent car racing. Currently, races only occur on the weekends, so check the schedule before heading over.

When you visit Montcalm County, there are many wonderful restaurants and bars that you should make sure that you check out. If you are in Stanton, the Brickyard is a favorite spot for many locals. For dessert, you will want to make sure that you go to Daisy Mae’s Dairy Barn. Here you are going to find some of the best-tasting ice creams around. From sundaes to mouth-watering milkshakes, the offerings at Daisy Mae’s do not disappoint.

If you are looking for a place to spend a warm summer evening dining, Clifford Lake Inn offers the perfect spot. The Inn has been in operation in Michigan for a very long time. The restaurant offers a full menu with something for everyone. Make sure that you try the Clifford Lake mushrooms. This local delicacy is something that you do not want to miss out on. Enjoy some of the best fish dishes around, or if you are in the mood, the Clifford Lake Inn also has some great steak dinners.
