Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room Gets Even Bigger In Auburn Hills

Following the success of the Shelby Township location (opened in December 2012) and the Royal Oak location (opened in December 2014), Michigan By The Bottle Tasing Room expanded once again with a new location in Auburn Hills. This location, opened July 9th, is the largest to date, and the first with outdoor seating.

Though growing in size, Michigan By The Bottle (MBTB) is absolutely not a franchise; it is locally owned and operated by Cortney and Shannon Casey, two certified sommeliers who operate by the motto, “Supporting the State with every sip.” In fact, the Shelby Township location’s opening made MBTB the first tasting room to unite multiple unaffiliated Michigan wineries under a single roof.

The Auburn Hills location follows in that spirit, featuring selections from 12 different Michigan wineries (including Left Foot Charley, Burgdorf’s Winery, and Chateau Chantal), 11 of which are unique to the Auburn Hills location – giving guests a reason to visit all three tasting rooms. Another draw? MBTB has earned Hour Detroit’s “Best of Detroit” Wine Bar designation for 2014, 2015 and 2016.

The new location offers wine tasting flights, take-home wine for purchase by the bottle, Michigan-made snacks, merchandise and a huge variety of special events, including live music, themed parties, wine education classes, Book & Bottle Club, and more. In addition to showcasing Michigan vendors in the snack department, the main artwork in the Auburn Hills location is by Grand Rapids artist Stephanie Schlatter, creator of the “On the Michigan Wine Trail” art series; Schlatter’s work is also featured in the Shelby Township and Royal Oak locations. A hallway gallery will also feature work by various local artists.

Like MBTB on Facebook, follow on Twitter and Instagram, and (of course) visit all three locations to sample the best of Michigan wine and support the state with every sip!
