We at The Awesome Mitten are excited about Michigan and everything in it! Constantly, we are striving to discover and uncover “awesome” events, businesses, music, people, places, products, etc.—anything that the Great Lakes State has to offer! Our staff is dedicated to the promotion of everything and anything Mitten related; we are comprised of diligent interns passionate about the “awesome”-ness of Michigan! Contributions are always welcome and encouraged in a community of lovers of this great state.
Michigan truly is a place to get excited about, and at Awesome Mitten our first campaign, “365 Days of Awesome”, highlights an exceptional person, place, business, product, band, event, etc. each day. The Awesome Mitten was born when I moved back to Michigan from Nashville, TN in September 2010. Almost immediately, I became frustrated. I couldn’t figure out why there weren’t more Michigan residents singing our states praises! I was so irritated, I wrote a Letter to the Editor. Three weeks later, I had started a Facebook page, a Twitter account, and a landing page for the website, determined to do something to make Michigan residents aware of all the cool things going on in their own state.
